Canterbury Floods

Hello,

In today's blog I will be talking about the Canterbury floods. The floods have been going on for 3 days non stop. It even made bridges crumble and break down due to the high waters in the floods making them shake and slump down.

It made people evacuate in Springfield, the Upper and Lower Selwyn Huts and in Peel Forest, while people trapped by floodwaters were rescued in multiple locations. In Ashburton, the river had been rising rapidly and the army was sent in case residents need to be evacuated.

Here is a picture of the floods. Were you bothered by them?

Newport Street in the Christchurch suburb of Avondale had been badly flooded

  1. Excellent writing Noah .. quite poetic for a report (your choice of vocab. makes it interesting for your readers). Good to see you draw your readers' attention to your well-chosen image. Keep up the good effort!:-)
